REVIEW A mini-skyscraper of a place in the southern part of Lakeside, Hotel View Point has excellent mountain views, particularly from the 5th-floor
terrace. The building is modern, facilities are good, rooms are spacious and
the more expensive ones have air-con.
Considering the effect on the Pokhara skyline, perhaps we shouldn't be
encouraging this kind of development, but Hotel View Point does have
excellent views and there's nowhere else in the immediate area that offers
such a vantage point above the surrounding rooftops. Views get better (and
prices higher) as you move up the building and all rooms have comfortable
fittings, including sizzling hot showers or bathtubs. The building belongs
firmly to the crazy paving school of architecture but it's smart, clean and
welcoming and the carved wooden doorway shows a certain degree of
imagination. There isn't much of a garden but you can take breakfast outside
on a series of raised platforms on the lawn. The hotel also has a restaurant
and a small parking area for guest cars. |
